Playrooms Patch Notes and Launch Updates
Explore the November 6 Playrooms patch, school and hotel fixes, launch additions, community event progress, and separate demo troubleshooting notes.
What changed in the latest Playrooms updates?
Missing the last few balls can leave an otherwise finished room short of completion. The newest Playrooms updates address several of those obstacles, with the November 6 patch correcting school and hotel ball placement and changing how vents handle surplus balls. For players returning after launch, these Playrooms updates also make completed ball pits more informative and restore keyboard input in Arcade and PitDash.
An earlier November 6, 2026 patch focused on completion and controls. Its biggest practical change concerns completion: the developer says the school can now reach 100% cleanup after fixes to disappearing locker balls. The notes also identify specific unreachable balls whose positions update when an existing save loads.
The newest facility notice puts stuck hotel and pool room balls on reachable floor, preserves existing save progress, corrects premature room-entry achievements, and locks the Cozy-mode Green Office at night along with the hub. It also adds a 5 billion ball goal by November 15 and shows all four goals in workforce.exe. Developer announcement.

This guide covers Playrooms by Two Pixels UG, released for Windows on Steam on November 4, 2026. The full game is Steam app 5037510; the separate demo is app 5246850. No numbered patch version is confirmed, so the update is identified by its announcement date.
| Announcement | Scope | Main takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| November 6 patch | Full release | Missing-ball fixes, vent corrections, clearer unlock information, and input repairs |
| First 24-hour update | Launch feedback and event progress | More than 500 million balls collected; completion problems acknowledged |
| November 4 launch | Full release additions | Two-tool carrying, expanded whiteboard features, additional languages, and a community event |
| Earlier demo notices | Demo build | Lighting performance, controller navigation, stamina display, and interaction fixes |
The official November 6 Playrooms patch notes support the current fixes below. They describe individual corrections, so they should not be read as a guarantee that every remaining issue has been resolved.

Missing-ball fixes: school, hotel, and ventilation
The most consequential Playrooms updates for completion-focused players concern balls that disappeared, became unreachable, or behaved incorrectly around vents. These problems matter because collecting balls drives progression: filled pits unlock abilities, and collected balls serve as currency for equipment and access to additional areas.
| Affected feature | Reported problem | November 6 correction |
|---|---|---|
| School locker fountains | Balls disappeared into a sealed compartment | Balls now fall in front of the locker |
| School ball reset | Resetting could remove locker-fountain balls | Those balls are preserved when using the reset option |
| School TV and hotel wall | Some balls sat beyond reach | The affected balls move to the pile underneath; existing saves receive this correction on load |
| Hotel ceilings | Balls became lodged overhead or hovered beneath ceilings | The listed placement problems have been corrected |
| Vents after all pits fill | Vent operation stopped | Vents continue collecting, with excess stored as bonus balls |
| Vents with increased range | Balls could be pulled through walls | The upgraded range now respects walls |
The school changes are especially useful if your remaining balls appeared to be trapped behind a locker. According to the developer, fountain balls now land where they can be collected, and the pause menu’s Reset balls option no longer removes them. Lockers can also reopen before their previous sound has finished fading.
For an existing save affected by the school TV or hotel wall problem, the notes explicitly say the placement correction applies on load. That gives players a supported reason to revisit those locations after updating. The announcement does not say that a new playthrough is required for those fixes.
Keep that save behavior specific to the named locations. The notes do not describe an identical recovery process for every ball-placement issue or every previously affected save.
The vent changes address two different situations. Continued operation after pits fill preserves surplus collection, while the wall correction prevents upgraded vents from reaching through room boundaries. Bonus-ball storage is confirmed, but the announcement does not explain additional spending rules or special rewards for those surplus balls.
Clearer unlocks, restored controls, and the Green Office
Several Playrooms updates improve the information and interactions surrounding cleanup. These changes are smaller than the missing-ball fixes, but they address moments where progression or controls could feel unclear.
| Area | Confirmed change | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Completed ball pits | Show the unlocked benefit and its location | Players can identify what filling the pit earned them |
| Language settings | Follow the normal settings application process with one restart prompt | Language changes use a more consistent confirmation flow |
| Arcade and PitDash | Accept keyboard input after being opened with the mouse | Switching from mouse selection to keyboard play works again |
| Green Office portal at night | The dark waiting-area sequence now receives its expected arrival | The listed situation no longer leaves the player waiting indefinitely |
The Arcade and PitDash correction is similarly specific. It concerns keyboard input after opening those activities with the mouse; it is not a general announcement about new control schemes.
For the Green Office, the patch addresses leaving through its portal at night and waiting in darkness without the expected arrival. The notes do not establish that every nighttime event or portal issue has been fixed.
Launch additions and the billion-ball community event
Launch additions belong in the Playrooms updates timeline because several features arrived with the full game rather than in the November 6 patch. Keeping those dates separate helps returning demo players understand what changed when they moved to the released version.
The launch announcement says the additional development time was used for the following features:
| Launch addition | Confirmed details |
|---|---|
| Carrying tools | Players can carry two tools at once |
| Whiteboard tools | Pen, eraser, line and shape tools, four brush sizes, and undo/redo |
| Color-sorting achievement | An achievement associated with sorting balls by color |
| Added languages | French, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese |
| Global collection event | Shared progress toward one billion collected balls |
The announcement also describes the full version as adding five new rooms, additional undisclosed locations, new equipment including robots, more room and tool upgrades, additional threats in darkness, and the complete story. Those are full-release features; they are not five rooms newly introduced by the November 6 maintenance patch.
Carrying two tools is a concrete change, but the source does not describe every possible combination or say that both tools can be operated simultaneously. Likewise, the color-sorting achievement is confirmed without an exact requirement count or a documented method for earning it.
Community event progress
The launch event gives all players a shared target: collect one billion balls by November 15, 2026. Each collected ball contributes to the global goal, and the announcement promises a reward for everyone at each milestone.
| Collection milestone | Status in the first 24-hour announcement | Reward details in the reviewed announcements |
|---|---|---|
| 100,000,000 balls | Reached | Not identified |
| 500,000,000 balls | Reached | Not identified |
| 1,000,000,000 balls | Not confirmed reached | Final reward remained secret |
The developer reported more than 500 million collected balls during the game’s first day. That is an event total, not a player count, and it should not be presented as a live counter for November 6.
The reviewed announcements do not confirm whether the final milestone has since been completed. They also do not identify the first two rewards, even though those milestones were marked complete. Avoid assuming a particular item, room, achievement, or other reward from the milestone numbers alone.
The first-day announcement acknowledged player difficulties with the final balls and promised a patch the following day. The November 6 notes provide the subsequent list of concrete fixes. That acknowledgment is developer-reported feedback, not independent evidence that every community report has been resolved.
Earlier demo updates and their troubleshooting limits
Older Playrooms updates include two separate demo notices covering performance and controls. These are useful historical references, but their settings and troubleshooting instructions should remain attached to the demo version unless full-release documentation confirms the same details.
One notice addressed stalls when the lights shut down section by section. The developer attributed the problem to excessive pressure on systems with limited graphics memory and adjusted the lighting shutdown behavior. The lights were still intended to turn off on schedule.
That demo notice also introduced Lightmap Resolution in the Graphics settings:
- Auto chooses a level appropriate for the system.
- Quarter was the developer’s suggested setting if stalls continued.
- A Player.log file was available to help investigate continuing stalls or crashes.
Keep the Demo log-path instructions scoped to that app. A separate November 5 developer reply also recommends Quarter for full-release lighting crashes, but does not supply the same log path or promise to fix every crash.
The other demo notice added a visible stamina display and revised controller navigation. Its changes included dropdown confirmation, settings navigation that follows the screen order, accessible Reset, Apply, and Exit controls, and corrected directional-pad input.
It also enlarged shoulder-button symbols, improved game-mode selection visibility, made Balli’s tips accessible with a controller, assigned the whiteboard pointer to the left stick, and added an inverted Y-axis option. Other corrections covered interactions during cutscenes or object prompts, text clarity at lower resolutions, and closing a portal door while standing inside it.
These older notices still mention October 28 as the planned release date. The storefront and launch material establish November 4, 2026 as the actual full-release date. The earlier date explains the original schedule; it should not replace the confirmed launch date.

FAQ
What is the latest confirmed Playrooms update?
The newest facility notice puts stuck hotel and pool room balls on reachable floor, preserves existing save progress, corrects premature room-entry achievements, and locks the Cozy-mode Green Office at night along with the hub. It also adds a 5 billion ball goal by November 15 and shows all four goals in workforce.exe. Developer announcement.
Can the school now reach 100%, and do existing saves receive fixes?
The developer says the school can now be cleaned completely after the locker-fountain corrections. Existing saves explicitly receive the repositioning of unreachable balls on the school TV and hotel wall when loaded. The notes do not describe the recovery behavior of every other fix in equal detail.
Has the billion-ball community event finished?
Completion of the one-billion milestone is unconfirmed in the reviewed announcements. The first 24-hour report records more than 500 million collected balls and marks the first two milestones complete. The stated deadline is November 15, 2026; the event’s later total and specific rewards are not established here.
Should full-release players use the demo’s Lightmap Resolution advice?
Quarter is documented in a demo notice and in a separate November 5 full-release developer reply. For the full game, the developer locates Lightmap Resolution under Image Quality and recommends Quarter for lighting-related crashes. The Demo log path should not be assumed to apply to the full game.
